SDF is Sansin's workhorse exterior stain. It's a penetrating, water-borne finish that drives deep into wood's cell structure, repelling moisture while letting the wood breathe naturally. That breathability is what separates SDF from conventional coatings: moisture can't get trapped inside to cause rot, cracking, or blister failures.
SDF is rated by siding manufacturers as one of the best natural finishes available. It can even be applied to wood with high moisture content — ideal for BC's wet climate and short painting windows.

ENS is Sansin's high-performance topcoat system — a two-coat barrier finish that delivers exceptional UV resistance and wear durability. Where SDF penetrates, ENS builds a tough, flexible protective layer that resists discoloration, abrasion, and weathering over the long term.
ENS is often applied over a SDF, Dec, or Classic base coat for the ultimate combination — deep penetrating protection underneath, and a hard-wearing UV shield on top. Outstanding on south-facing exposures, high-traffic decks, and exotic hardwoods.

Dec is purpose-built for the abuse a deck takes. It's a penetrating, matte two-coat formula that drives deeply into horizontal wood surfaces, protecting from the inside out. Where other deck coatings eventually peel and scratch, Dec's deep penetrating solids protect without forming a brittle surface film.
It can be applied to wet wood (up to 21% moisture content) — a real advantage in spring conditions or on pressure-treated lumber that hasn't fully dried. Works on cedar, pine, spruce, exotic hardwoods, and pressure-treated lumber.
